Stoneware Jug, circa 1850 A two gallon mid-nineteenth century salt glazed stoneware jug stamped "Albany, N.Y. 2". The jug has a simple stylistic cobalt decoration of a single iris with leaves The circular base is flat. The body is cylindrical but tapers to an ovoid form at the shoulders. There is an applied single handle at the rear and incised band at the neck. |
