Description |
Plate, circa 1780 A late eigthteenth century faience Continental plate with polychrome decorations. The plate has a deeply scalloped edge with a reticulated border. The central painted scene consists of a man leading a horse around trees and bushes. The horse is pulling a cart with a large bundle The edges are painted green and pink whiole the center main decoration is black, greys, bwons and yellows. Makers mark on reverse is a conjoined "VP." |
