Description |
Mirror, circa 1830 Gilt Empire rectangular mirror, American. The frame is deeply channeled at the crest, base, and sides. Applied to these areas are vase-and-cylinder turned half-round pilasters. At the corners are square projecting brass rosettes. The frame is fitted with a single panel of mirrored glass. Rails are decorated with turned and split elements; the turned elements sit in concave molded rails. All surfaces are gilded with matte and burnished enhancements. |
