Description |
Reverse print on eglomise glass, "Faith," unsigned, circa 1810. One of a pair (see 921B). A lemon gold frame with black and gold eglomise mat. The image shows a classically garbed woman (Faith) with long hair over her shoulders, her eyes raised to heaven, and her hands clasped in front of her breast. To the left of the figure there is an altar with an open Bible, crucifix, chalice and skull. The rising sun over the water forms the backdrop. American. |
