Description |
Chair, circa 1790 A black painted American bow-back side chair. The bow-back has a flattened front with four molded scribs lines. There are nine bamboo-turned and tapered spindles. The saddle seat is formed with deep indentation to the sides and rises to a peak in front. An incised line on the seat demarks the area of the spindles. The bamboo-turned raking legs have a matching H-shaped stretcher. |
