Hood's Sarsaparilla, a patent medicine produced by C.I. Hood & Co. in Lowell, Massachusetts operated between 1875 and 1922. Founded by Charles Ira Hood in 1875, C.I. Hood & Co. was a prominent patent medicine company in the United States. Hood's Sarsaparilla was the company's best-selling product and was advertised as a remedy for various ailments, including "purifying the blood and cure various disorders, including heart disease, rheumatism, and edema". The product contained ingredients such as sarsaparilla root, dandelion, juniper berries, and 18% alcohol. |
