Whale oil lamp, circa 1830 An early to mid-19th century pewter whale oil lamp, American (Connecticut), with a circular stepped dome base with incised banding, plain tapering stem, cylindrical font, and threaded burner with two hollow cylindrical protrusions. Manufactured by "Smith + Co." Probably made in Connecticut after 1825. |
